Staff appointments
We welcome Mrs Booth and Mrs Rankin into school. Mrs Booth will be working alongside Mrs Wilby in the office and Mrs Rankin will be working in the classroom.
Security
To improve the security in school we have installed a key-pad on the door leading from the reception area into school. Can I please remind you to use only the front entrance and report to Reception when visiting school. Any child arriving after the whistle has been blown in the morning and the children have gone into school must use the main entrance.
Parent Governor
Each child should have brought home a letter detailing the arrangements for the election of parent governors. If you have not received a letter please contact school and we will get one to you.
St Thomas a Becket school – Reminder
There will be an open evening on Thursday 1st October at St. Thomas a Becket school for our current Year 6 children and their families. It is important that you attend this evening, if you hope for admission to the school for your child, as important information will be given out.
School Council Elections
A big thank you to all the children who stood for election to the School Council last week. There were some very persuasive arguments put forward! The first meeting is scheduled for next week.

Thank you to Daisy Chain Charity, which was set up in memory of Rebecca Dearnley, who have very kindly bought a lovely Play House and equipment for the children to play with in the Nursery.

Inhalers
Please note – if your child has an inhaler, epi-pen or other long-term medication in school, will you please come into school and check that it is still in date, that your child’s name is still readable on the item and that the instructions for use and the dosages are still correct.
